Ryan Thompson (MIET) goes one step further

Ryan has worked for Kane Engineering for over 12 years and finished his apprenticeship there.

His role primarily was an electrical engineer, however this has developed from panel builder into technical and quality manager which covers aspects of business management and product quality assurance.

He has been a JIB approved panel builder under the ECS Scheme for many years

Was a technician member (TMIET) of the IET since 2023 and recently progressed to member of the IET (MIET) which is internationally recognised under EU directive 2005/36/EC.

Completed NEBOSH General certificate (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).

He hopes to complete a level 5 CMI in management and leadership this year.

His long term aspirations is to seek professional registration to EngTech or IEng

Why is membership of the IET and the NEBOSH Certification valuable to your career- (Ryan's own words)

Becoming a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) is an important achievement to me because it shows a high level of technical expertise and a commitment to my professional growth in engineering. MIET is internationally recognized, so it reflects both my knowledge of industry standards and my dedication to staying current with best practices. On top of that, obtaining the NEBOSH General Certificate was a key step in my development, as it provides me with a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental management.
