Why is accreditation important to the consultant engineer and End-user?

IEC 60439-1 permits the construction of a modular Low Voltage Factory built assembly where the switchboard manufacturer constructs the panel exactly according to a set of approved and tested methods & work instructions. Accreditation by the manufacturer (Cubic) is the customer’s only guarantee that the panel manufacturer has built the switchboard in the manner intended - and more importantly tested - by Cubic. Any variation from the documented system may compromise fault rating, mechanical strength, arc protection in the event of a fault, and even operating and cost efficiency of the panel.
